Grace Poe Contender in 2016, VP Binay Still Leading Presidential Surveys

Sen. Grace Poe: 2016 Presidential Surveys
Senator Grace Poe is now a candidate to beat in the 2016 Presidential Elections if the election is held today. This is the result of surveys conducted by leading survey firms in the country.  In the recent survey by Pulse Asia last November, 18% of the respondents say that they will vote for Poe for President. The figure is higher as compared with the previous surveys which she only got 10%. The increasing popularity of Poe also puts more pressure on her on running for a much higher position in the 2016 Presidential elections.

However, Senator Poe does not entertain the clamor of her supporters for her to run for the presidency. The Senator said that she has no plans to run for President in 2016 and will allow more experienced candidates to vie for the post. She added that she has more work to do in the Senate and needs to learn more before jumping into a more delicate position in the government.

Meanwhile, Vice President Jejomar Binay is still leading the poll despite the various scandals that he is into.  Recent survey results show that Binay will win the presidency if the election is held today. He received 26% approval from the respondents. Though this figure has been decreasing after the scandal broke out.

Binay's accusers claim that the Vice President owns Hacienda Binay, received kickbacks from overpriced Makati Parking Building, and other anomalous transactions during his term as Makati City Mayor. Binay refutes the accusations saying they are all politically motivated.
