DILG Secretary Robredo Plane Crash Update

Sec Robredo Plane Crash Report
(Latest Updates) The plane of  DILG Secretary Jesse Robredo crashed in the waters of Masbate late in the afternoon on Saturday. There were at least 4 passengers including the Secretary. An aide of the Secretary was rescued and survived the tragedy. Jun Abrazado only suffered minor injuries.

Rescue efforts were temporarily suspended due to visibility and is expected to resume early tomorrow.

The Secretary was on board a 6-seater Piper Seneca plane from Cebu bound to Naga City. According to reports, the pilot asked for an emergency landing in Masbate Airport due to propeller problem.

Sunday 9 AM:

-Secretary Robredo, Pilot Jessup Bahinting and a Nepalese student pilot Kshitiz Chand are still missing

- President Noynoy Aquino and Secretary Mar Roxas went to Masbate early morning to personally supervise the search and rescue operation.

- Reports showed that the plane crashed at approximately 200 meters near the shoreline of Masbate.

- A US Navy ship will be helping in the rescue mission.

- The Navy, various government agencies and as well as private companies and local citizens are helping in the search and rescue of the DILG Secretary.

- More debris from the plane were already recovered including its fuel tank

Tuesday 11 am

- the body of Secretary Robredo was already found. Two other crews were also recovered.
-his body was found at least 800 meters from the shore at 180 feet deep
- the Secretary's remains is now brought to Naga City, his hometown.
-public viewing is expected to be opened at 5 pm at Archbishop's Palace.
